Ingredients
  

For the Crust
  • 1 ½ cups graham crackers crushed or Oreo crumbs for a chocolate twist
  • 6 tbsp butter melted
  • ¼ cup sugar
For the Chocolate Filling
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 ½ cups semi-sweet or dark chocolate chopped
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp butter
For the Topping
  • Whipped cream
  • Chocolate shavings

Method
 

Step 1: Make the Crust
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix crushed graham crackers (or Oreos) with melted butter and sugar until combined.
  3. Press the mixture into a 9-inch pie dish.
  4. Bake for 10 minutes, then let it cool completely.
Step 2: Prepare the Chocolate Filling
  1. In a medium saucepan, heat the heavy cream and milk over medium heat until warm (but not boiling).
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks, cornstarch, sugar, and salt.
  3. Slowly pour in some of the warm milk while whisking to temper the eggs.
  4. Pour the mixture back into the saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened (about 5 minutes).
  5. Remove from heat and stir in chopped chocolate, vanilla, and butter until smooth.
Step 3: Assemble and Chill
  1. Pour the warm chocolate filling into the cooled crust.
  2. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to set.
Step 4: Add Toppings and Serve
  1. Top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings before serving.
  2. Slice, serve, and enjoy!

Notes

  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 4 days.
  • Can be frozen (without whipped cream) for up to 2 months. Thaw in the fridge before serving.
